The basic purpose of the research study in the professional master program is to create an opportunity for the participants to identify, analyze, research and find possible solutions to a specific problem that they face in the context of their present job or are likely to dace in the future.

I.           Preparing Project Proposal
 
In consultation with your research advisor and committee members (2) you are required to prepare and defend the research proposal. The contents of the research proposal shall be:
 
1.      Title of the project.
2.      Advisor and committee members.
3.      Rational of the project.
4.      Problem statement.
5.      Research methodology.
i.         Specific objectives.
ii.       Conceptual framework of the project.
iii.      Scope of research and data collection.
6.      Structure of the project report.
7.      Schedule of work.
8.      How will this project study help in participant’s job context?
9.      Selective review of key concepts to be used in project work.
 
II.        Progress and Review:
 
The advisor and 2 committee members from SOM / AIT- EXTENSION will facilitate project work from launch to it’s final evaluation. The advisees are advised to meet them as often as possible to seek feedback on various aspects of project work e.g. review of concepts, project methodology, questionnaire design, sample, data collection and analysis, writing and presentation.
 
III.     Writing Project Report:
 
The advisees are required to follow the AIT guidelines for writing up of the report.
 
IV.      Defense & Evaluation:
 
Each participant will be required to present and defend his/her project work in the presence of the advisor and committee members. The grade sheet will carry the name of the research study and qualitative rating (e.g. excellent, very good, good etc.)
